Vatican City, officially called the Vatican City State, is the smallest sovereign state in the world, located within the city of Rome, Italy. Vatican City is the spiritual and administrative center of the Roman Catholic Church. The city-state is home to the papacy and numerous landmarks, including St. Peter's Basilica and the Sistine Chapel.
